INTRODUCTION

The course focused on a series of spatial experiments that translate, manipulate and articulate the links, connections, and transitions between present in space within the historical context of Orvieto.
The analytical process was approached with the construction of a series of analog design techniques.
The seminar cultivated an understanding of the relationships between the idea and representation. Alternative or non-conventional graphic representation strategies were explored through a series of exercises showcased here.

COGNITIVE MAPPING

Spaces are analyzed in terms of their configuration and organization within and in relation to their context. Dissecting and deconstructing them to simple elements should lead to the description of how the overall spaces are perceived. These spatial studies are sequential, and the graphic components may act as underlying base, to represent a final diagrammatic product.

2D RELIEF

This analysis has an interpretative approach, this will allow to observe and comprehend the features of each of the layers identified as different elements of spatial structure of the given context.
These will generate interpretative codes or diagrams, which will emphasize the relationships between spatial layers and their organization.
